Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION The Apprentice Jeweler is responsible for performing basic sizing, soldering & prong setting in gold and servicing guest’s needs with respect to POMP/JSP, Cleanings and Warranty Check-up in an immediate, positive and caring manner. They are to maintain a learning discipline to achieve the next level of Bench Jeweler. The Apprentice Jeweler works closely with the head Jeweler and General Manager/Operations Manager, if applicable, to achieve store objectives and is responsible for modeling, support and adherence to company values.
BASIC JEWELRY SERVICE Performs basic sizing, soldering & prong setting in gold. Finish repairs in assistance of the jewelry repair team. Quality Controls jobs before the office team inspects
GUEST SERVICE Services guest’s needs with respect to POMP/JSP, Cleanings and Warranty Check-up in an immediate, positive, and caring manner. Assists store staff with basic guest inquiries.
SECURITY Maintains constant awareness of security issues involved in operating a store and jewelry shop. Follows guidelines and procedures for handling merchandise Records completed repairs on the JR log Follows procedures for opening and closing the store
STORE MAINTENANCE Responsible for conducting opening/closing/scheduled maintenance for shop equipment Assists in maintaining a clean, aesthetically pleasing shop environment Assists head jeweler in handling metal and tool supplies for monthly orders Assists head jeweler in maintaining equipment according to the jeweler’s room safety checklist Assists head jeweler in quarterly and yearly sweeps Must know how to safely handle hazardous chemicals; including assisting with hazardous waste spills and clean up.
EDUCATION Responsible for completing assigned training. Responsible for becoming proficient in progressively advancing jewelry repair & manufacturing techniques.
