SUMMARY:
Since its founding as a teen drop-in center in 1972, Community Solutions (CS) has grown in both depth and breadth of services in response to the growing and changing needs in the community. As one of the most comprehensive nonprofit human services agencies in Santa Clara County and the surrounding areas, CS provides prevention, intervention, treatment, and residential services to more than 6,400 clients annually, helping them overcome the challenges posed by mental health issues, substance abuse, trauma, severe family dysfunction, sexual and domestic violence, and human trafficking.
Community Solutions seeks a senior financial executive with strong business and financial acumen. Under the general supervision of the President/CEO, the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) provides leadership and management of financial and business support services for the agency and its related operations that require independent judgment in the application and development of policies and procedures.
Areas of responsibility include budget and financial forecasting, IT/Electronic Medical Records (EMR), facilities supervision, contracting, and financial compliance. The CFAO is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the corporate financial operation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organization/contract policies and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial leadership in an organization with multiple contracts, governmental funding and >$40M Budget.
Principles of general accounting and budgeting for organizations with multiple cost centers and funding sources.
Knowledge of principles of budgeting and financial management, preferably in a complex, government-funded environment, and laws and regulations governing agency operations, preferably specific to the agency's diverse services.
Mature, confident leader who demonstrates ability to inspire others in a collaborative environment that results in effective teamwork.
MBA or CPA and non-profit management experience preferred.
What You'll Be Doing in the role of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer:
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING
Develops and maintains financial and business policies, controls, and reporting procedures. Ensures that fiscal and business activities comply with Federal, State, County, and Local agency requirements, as well as Agency contracting entities.
Monitors the agency’s cash flow needs, alerts the President/CEO to any problems or opportunities and advises on appropriate actions to be considered regarding cash flow irregularities.
Attends monthly Board of Directors meetings and reports monthly financials and serves as lead staff to the Board Finance Committee and Audit Committee.
Assists agency management staff with various financial matters relating to their programs, including understanding financial reports, budgets, and risk management issues.
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Facilitates organizational strategy development and provides oversight of its implementation, including collaboration in the development of annual and longer-term goals, monitoring achievement of the goals, and establishing metrics to determine successful implementation of the goals.
Collaborates to drive innovation and new thinking across topics that impact the future of the agency, including behavioral health policy, emerging technologies, facilities management and deployment, and organizational design.
Participates as staff support to the Board of Directors as assigned by the President/CEO.
Oversees the development of professional and competent agency staff in the context of learning and striving for excellence.
Is accountable for effective staffing and staff development of agency operations and, in collaboration with the President/CEO, structures and fills critical executive positions.
Facilitates team meetings in a strength-based manner – building trust and addressing concerns in a strength-based manner.
Promotes cultural awareness and competence. Maintains professional standards regarding client rights.
Maintains excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with appropriate community organizations and system providers.
IT/EMR
Lead analysis and implementation of technology within the agency to deliver excellent client and staff experience, improve analytics, and ensure the agency has the technology landscape to address future client needs.
Improve the utilization of technology for making internal decisions and measuring the overall impact of the agency.
Manage relationships with outside IT and other vendors.
FACILITIES & ADMINISTRATIVE:
Plan, direct, and coordinate administrative services and facility operations.
Develop, implement, and maintain a Facilities Plan that provides the highest level of services for clients and staff while balancing the agency's financial objectives.
Negotiate and maintain leases in all office buildings, residential facilities, and other company locations.
Ensure all CS facilities are kept in a safe and welcoming fashion and in accordance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Oversee and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on all facilities with HUD loans.
Ensure compliance with facility security and safety requirements, training needs, and Agency-wide risk assessment and compliance.
Oversee the establishment of new client or office-related facilities in partnership with facility management.

Working at Community Solutions:
The annual base salary range for this role is $180,000 – 230,000. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, licensure, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Work Environment and Location: This position is located within commutable distance to our Gilroy, CA Headquarters. Occasional travel to off-site meetings and conferences is required.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by specific programs, licensing regulations and Community Solutions practices.
License: Possess a valid California driver’s license, current car insurance and a good driving record as documented by a DMV report and consistent with the Agency’s liability insurance requirements.
Requires an automobile to perform routine job duties.
