Job Description
The Space Needle is in the process of modernizing its iconic elevator systems. We are seeking an Elevator Modernization Engineer to work alongside experienced elevator and construction trade partners during the Modernization to learn the newly upgraded elevator systems, working with our trade partners to plan future preventative maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the onsite engineering and facilities teams with onsite projects and initiatives. The Elevator Engineer will work alongside our elevator manufacturer to help prepare and plan the best strategies for planning ongoing preventative maintenance and optimized elevator throughout.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist with the Elevator Modernization project team in supporting the trade partners and construction teams onsite schedules and sequencing while balancing the needs of operations.
- Learn and document the functions and technical specifications of the new elevator technology.
- Support the elevator service team and onsite engineering and facilities team with troubleshooting, system monitoring, and routine maintenance.
- Conduct data collection, performance analysis, and reporting on elevator operations.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and senior engineers to ensure project success.
- Adhere to safety regulations, operational procedures, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and training materials for future maintenance teams.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3-7+ years of experience in elevator modernization, installation, or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of elevator control systems, motor technology, and modernization techniques.
- Experience with CAD software for designing modernization layouts.
- Familiarity with PLC programming, VFDs, and microprocessor-based controllers.
- Knowledge of ASME, OSHA, and local building codes.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with varying responsibilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Ability to respond to emergencies on short notice; reachable by phone or email on off hours.

Full time, Salaried position Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 DOE + Bonus up to 10% Benefits include: - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Long Term Disability
