What You’ll Do:

As the Facilities Manager , you’ll be responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, service, and repair of all hotel equipment while supporting the hotel’s goals of guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability. Your responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the hotel’s Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, ensuring all rooms and public spaces meet hotel standards
  • Managing a skilled team of maintenance staff, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Supervising and coordinating maintenance activities for hotel systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local certifications required for operating and repairing hotel systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC
  • Handling emergency repairs and responding to requests for maintenance from guests and staff
  • Managing hotel energy expenses and continuously striving for energy conservation initiatives
  • Monitoring and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization across hotel facilities
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and resolving issues quickly to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Coordinating fire safety systems inspections and ensuring compliance with all safety codes and regulations
  • Leading daily property tours to inspect hotel and exterior perimeter for maintenance needs
  • Keeping all equipment warranties, manuals, and repair logs up to date
  • Working closely with hotel departments to ensure all areas are maintained properly (including Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Kitchen)
  • Managing inventory for maintenance supplies and coordinating timely procurement of necessary items
  • Participating in departmental meetings, contributing to team communication, and fostering a positive work environment

What You’ll Bring:

To be successful in this role, we require:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (2-year or 4-year college degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel or facilities management; or a 2-year college degree and 3+ years of related experience; or a 4-year college degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • Supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Current certification in HVAC, CPR, First Aid, and any other relevant certifications (as required by federal, state, or local regulations)
  • Certification and licensing to operate and repair hotel boilers and chillers, as required by local legislation
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate company vehicles when needed
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with guests, team members, and vendors
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • A customer service-focused approach with the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Ability to work with financial data and perform basic arithmetic functions for budgeting and expense management

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and grooming, adhering to hotel uniform standards
  • Ensure all staff is attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented in all interactions with guests and fellow employees
  • Train, supervise, and schedule the engineering team, reviewing payroll and submitting to accounting as required
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, offering training and team-building opportunities
  • Manage energy and water conservation efforts, continuously looking for ways to reduce costs and enhance sustainability
  • Act as the emergency contact person for hotel maintenance issues
  • Participate in fire drills and employee safety training, chairing the Safety Committee and ensuring all hotel staff is trained in safety procedures
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel’s pool and spa in compliance with local health codes
  • Ensure that Lost and Found items are handled according to hotel standards
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager
