Forensic Accountant

Location: Sidney, OH

Hours: 15 hours per week (specific schedule to be determined)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Forensic Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who is skilled in uncovering financial discrepancies and supporting legal and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial statements, revenue trends, cash flow reports, and debt obligations.
• Investigate and assess the corporate structure and accounting systems for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify inconsistencies, anomalies, or gaps in financial records.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with departments such as finance, legal, and operations.
• Develop strategies to improve internal financial controls and prevent future discrepancies.
• Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial data.
• Provide expert testimony in legal or regulatory proceedings, if necessary.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CFF certification strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in forensic accounting.
• Proficient in accounting software and financial data analysis tools.
• Strong ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of professional integrity.
• Experience with legal proceedings and offering expert testimony is a plus.
