Funeral Director Clinton, Mississippi

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Funeral Director to serve families in Clinton, Mississippi and surrounding communities with professionalism, empathy, and integrity. As a Funeral Director, you will guide families through one of lifes most difficult times, helping them plan and carry out meaningful funeral, memorial, and cremation services.

This is a vital, hands-on role for someone who values tradition, supports diverse cultural and religious practices, and finds purpose in offering comfort and clarity during times of grief.

Key Responsibilities

• Family Care : Meet with families to plan funeral or memorial services with sensitivity and professionalism. Provide guidance on burial or cremation options, merchandise, and ceremony details.
• Service Coordination : Arrange, direct, and oversee all aspects of funeral and memorial servicesincluding visitations, processions, and intermentsensuring everything runs smoothly.
• Compliance & Documentation : Prepare and file necessary legal documents including death certificates, burial transit permits, and insurance paperwork in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Preparation & Embalming : Oversee or assist with preparation of the deceased, including embalming, dressing, and casketing (if licensed and required).
• Facility & Equipment Oversight : Ensure the funeral home, vehicles, and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and prepared for services.
• Community Engagement : Represent the funeral home at community events and maintain strong relationships with local clergy, cemeteries, hospitals, and care providers.
• Support Pre-Need Services : Assist in educating families about pre-planning options and benefits when needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed Funeral Director in the state of Mississippi (or ability to obtain licensure promptly).
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Mortuary Science or Funeral Service.
• Valid Mississippi drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in funeral directing preferred, but new licensees are encouraged to apply.
• Compassionate communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-emotion environments.
