Job Description

SeKON is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Information Security Analyst to join our team. In this mid-level role, you will plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures to protect computer networks and information. You will ensure the appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard critical digital assets and vital electronic infrastructure. Additionally, you will play a key role in responding to security breaches and virus incidents, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our systems. With over 25 years of experience, SeKON specializes in providing large-scale health IT programs in support of federal government customers including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and Implement Security Measures: Develop and execute security strategies to safeguard the organization's networks, systems, and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other threats. Monitor and Upgrade Systems: Continuously monitor network activity to detect security vulnerabilities and threats. Perform necessary upgrades to maintain system integrity and enhance protection. Incident Response: Investigate and respond to computer security breaches, malware, and virus attacks. Collaborate with IT and other teams to mitigate risks and restore operations promptly. Ensure Security Controls: Evaluate and ensure that robust security controls are in place to protect digital files and critical infrastructure, in compliance with organizational and industry standards. Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective measures. Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations and policies. Documentation: Maintain detailed incident reports, risk assessments, and system security plans to support the organization's cybersecurity framework. Training and Awareness: Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and protocols to reduce human error and improve organizational security. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in information security or related fields. Proven track record of implementing and monitoring security measures. Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar certifications. Technical Skills: Proficiency in network security tools, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and operating systems (Windows, Linux). Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat analysis, and mitigation strategies. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Why Join Us?
