We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, and Burlington, MA, with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer, Journeyman supporting the Fixed Wing Branch HC/MC-130 Recapitalization Program. This ACAT IC program aims to replace the aging fleet of Air Combat Command (ACC) HC-130P/N aircraft and Air Force (AF) Special Operations Command (AFSOC) MC-130E/H/P. Responsibilities Support the Government software development activities required for defining, developing, testing, and fielding Operational Flight Program (OFP) upgrades, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and documenting specified changes during Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD), Full Rate Production, and Post Deployment phases. Manage the total software development efforts of the program's OEM, including subcontractors, covering development, implementation, and maintenance of software as per their Software Development Plan. This includes platforms, support equipment, training systems, and mission planning systems. Support software safety analysis to assess new and modified functionalities, especially those critical to flight safety. Ensure inclusion of major software development and quality assurance activities in IMPs. Review system/subsystem design information, including Software Requirements Specifications, Design Descriptions, Test Plans, Test Reports, and Interface Requirements. Participate in team meetings, Technical Reviews, Working Groups, and provide technical guidance on software development practices, performance, risks, system integration, software assurance, and cybersecurity. Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications: Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Education: BS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science Experience: 3 to 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in avionics, software, or testing for the DoD.
