Akkodis is seeking a Material Flow Planning Specialist for a 12-18 contract job with a client in Chattanooga, TN. You will coordinate material flow between Supplier Park and Logistics Pre-series area. You will be responsible for recording and filing data from the builds and populating KPIs. You will also coordinate the Hot Call procedure and facilitate getting the parts to the line. You will also represent the Logistics Launch team during Teams or in person meetings. Work schedule will vary slightly based on build needs. As needed, approximately five hours of overtime per week
Rate Range: $33.00/hour to $36.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Material Flow Planning Specialist job responsibilities include:
• Coordinate overall material delivery process for production trials and model changes
• Review Logistics concepts for packaging design and project coordination
• Ensure processes meet safety standards, quality standards, environmental, and OSHA regulations
• Create a continuous improvement environment to develop best in class production system
• Develop systems to meet KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements
• Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity, with improvement activities for pre-series processes
• Provide direction and assistance to analyze issues, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues
• Responsible to ensure equipment is maintained and functioning
Desired Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or relevant work experience
• Three to five years’ job-related experience, automotive background preferred
• Problem solving
• Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
• Project management – Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
• Computer skills – skilled in the use of software and industrial networking (Proficient in MS Office required)
• Integration – joining people, processes or systems
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• Resource management
• SAP
Specialized skills, knowledge or certifications required:
• Part delivery system development
