Salary: $21-$24/hour

Looking to be part of a fun, creative team at the heart of the Truckee community? KidZone Museum is hiring a Museum Operations Assistant to help keep our space running smoothly! This role is perfect for someone mature and experienced who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and making a difference in a place where kids learn and play.

This position offers 30-40 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on museum needs, with typical days off being Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Youll play a vital role in maintaining the museum, assisting guests and groups, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Were open TuesdaySaturday, with additional hours on Sundays for special events and Mondays for group visits. Weekend availability is required.

What Youll Do:

• Keep supplies stocked and organized, including ordering and replenishing as needed
  
• Handle minor repairs and upkeep
  
• Coordinate maintenance tasks with volunteers and the cleaning crew
  
• Help maintain a clean and welcoming space for families

Group Coordination & Guest Services

• Check in and assist group visits
  
• Communicate with customers and the museum manager to ensure smooth scheduling
  
• Occasionally fill in at the front desk, assisting with guest services and admissions

Cash Handling & Front Desk Assistance

• Process payments and admissions using our POS system
  
• Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
  
• Provide excellent customer service to museum guests

Reliable & Punctual Shows up on time and respects team schedules
Problem-Solver Notices what needs to be done and takes initiative
Tech-Savvy Comfortable using scheduling systems, Google Suite, email, and POS systems
Independent & Team-Oriented Able to work solo or support teammates as needed
Flexible Willing to adjust tasks and hours to support museum operations
Loves Working Around Kids! This is a must for our museum environment
Detail-Oriented Keeps things running smoothly and efficiently
Cash Handling Experience Comfortable processing transactions and using a POS system

Some tasks require standing for at least an hour and occasional outdoor work during special events.
