Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Attorney to join our client's legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate finance transactions, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing loan agreements, mortgages, and other related legal documents. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate law, finance, and lending practices, as well as excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and Negotiate Legal Documents: Prepare and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, mortgages, deeds of trust, and other real estate finance-related contracts.
  • Advise on Real Estate Finance Transactions: Provide legal counsel to clients on all aspects of real estate finance, including acquisition, development, refinancing, and sale of properties.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing title reports, zoning regulations, environmental assessments, and other property-related documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in negotiations with lenders, borrowers, investors, and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate finance transactions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and real estate professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal support.
  • Litigation Support: Assist in resolving disputes and litigations related to real estate finance matters, if necessary.
  • Keep Abreast of Legal Developments: Stay updated on changes in real estate finance laws and regulations to provide informed advice and representation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Must be in good standing with the Colorado state bar.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in real estate finance law, with a strong background in commercial real estate transactions.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of real estate finance, lending practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all legal documentation and transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both commercial and residential real estate finance.
  • Background in working with financial institutions, investors, or large real estate developers.
  • Familiarity with tax laws related to real estate transactions
