The Opportunity: NetCentrics is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs by developing innovative and effective software solutions. In this role, you will analyze customer needs, design comprehensive solutions, and develop applications across various programming languages and IT platforms. You will be responsible for writing logical and functional code in multiple languages, evaluating the benefits and risks of different coding approaches, and ensuring seamless integration within existing architectures. Additionally, you must be able to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, adapting to challenges as they arise. Whether working independently or as part of a team, your expertise will be crucial in delivering impactful solutions that enhance the services provided to our nation’s veterans. Responsibilities: Attend meetings with other senior developers to plan work for the team with project architects Relay planned work to the team for implementation Analyze customer requirements to develop innovative software solutions Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software applications Debug and resolve issues in computer programs Ensure software solutions consider current architecture and operational environments while planning for scalability and enhancements Basic Qualifications: Proven experience with service-oriented concepts and enabling technologies Strong background in software development and implementation Proficiency in software development processes, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support Minimum of 8 years of experience in debugging and resolving errors in computer programs Minimum of 8 years of experience working with: Agile methodologies, system architecture, and object-oriented software design REST and SOAP web services, as well as SOA architecture Relational database systems such as Oracle and SQL Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education) Must have the desire and ability to mentor and grow team members, including junior level developers Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Commitment to Diversity This employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status or on the basis of disability.
