Description:
The Tribal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing communication strategies to enhance public awareness, engagement, and available services within the Tribal community. This role involves managing internal and external communications, overseeing social media platforms, and distributing communication to elders, persons with disabilities, and those eligible for home and community-based services. Must be able to travel as needed. Regular travel to Grand Portage is required if employee does not reside in the community.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Qualifications:
Experience in communications, social media management, or public affairs, preferably in a Tribal or government setting. Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills. Understanding of Tribal governance, culture, and community dynamics. Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under Grand Portage auto insurance policy.
