The Web Content Architect manages development of our franchise communications web properties including a franchisee-facing extranet and community platform. The ideal candidate should have a passion for organizing large amounts of information and delivering it in a way that is intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. Understanding who our users are and what they need should always be top of mind. Using analytics to confirm the user experience is truly world class is mandatory.
The Web Content Architect supervises the Web Content Specialist.
Responsibilities and Duties - Assess the current experience on our franchisee-facing extranet and community platform and determine immediate and long-term needs.
- Develop a roadmap that allows for both immediate, easy-win improvements and long-term transformation of how we organize content and deliver it to our franchise audience.
- Research and incorporate industry best practices and innovation into our information infrastructure.
- Manage project lifecycles, including project scope, contract support, resources, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building, and deployment to see projects from beginning-to-end.
- Identify and design solutions to improve the process for updates to site content for subject matter experts.
- Works with vendor resources to develop HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) in line with web design and brand guidelines to ensure The UPS Store brand standards (e.g., font size, color palette, spacing, etc.) are followed.
- Assists in preparing statements of work for vendors to ensure accurate quotes are received.
- Manages vendor project plans to keep deliverables on schedule and management informed of progress.
Knowledge and Skills - Knowledge and experience with web content management systems
- Understanding of information architecture and user experience design
- Experience with HTML and CSS technical languages
- Ability to balance multiple projects and expectations, while meeting all deadlines
- Ability to work with multiple subject matter experts to develop engaging content to support company initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in web development, Web Design, Application Architecture, Computer Sciences or related field - Preferred
Basic Qualifications - Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

- Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself
- Must have a bachelor's degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience
- Must have knowledge and experience with web content management systems
- Must have an understanding of HTML and CSS technical languages.
Internal Salary Grade: 20E
Compensation and Benefits: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $78,900/year to $128,220/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
