Copcan Civil is a leader in civil contracting, construction management, environmental contracting, forestry, demolition, and aggregate sales across British Columbia. Duties & Responsibilities: Safely operate a low-bed/end dump truck to haul heavy equipment to and from construction sites throughout the Okanagan region Conduct pre-trip inspections of the truck and equipment to ensure safety and compliance Ensure that all loads are secured properly and that load weights comply with regulations Transport equipment and materials between job sites efficiently and safely Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle maintenance, and other required documentation Work collaboratively with the crew to coordinate the delivery and pickup of equipment Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to schedule and coordinate deliveries • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment Keep the truck clean and perform routine maintenance checks Qualifications & Skills: 10 years of relevant experience preferred Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driving record Extensive knowledge of the Kootenay region, with the ability to navigate different construction sites Ability to safely and efficiently haul heavy equipment Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines Proactive and reliable, with excellent attendance Knowledge of safety regulations in the transportation and construction industry Willingness to travel across the Okanagan region for various projects Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety No smoking policy in company vehicles Compensation: This is a unionized position to earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $35.38- $41.64 per hour (based on candidate's experience), plus vacation/statutory holiday pay.
