Join to apply for the Network Engineer, Entry Level role at Independent Software We are seeking a motivated Network Engineer, Entry Level to join our team at Independent Software . The primary responsibilities include maintaining existing networks and troubleshooting issues that arise. Responsibilities Resolve routine network problems using network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitor data and voice system networks for messages, alarms, or issues. Respond to alarms, confirm problem severity, and initiate resolutions. Troubleshoot issues with scripts and standard procedures; escalate unresolved problems as needed. Research issues to determine if they can be resolved using predefined protocols. Document basic issue resolutions and communicate alarms or issues along with actions taken to resolve or escalate. Perform scheduled maintenance routines according to established procedures, identifying and addressing issues or escalating when necessary. Activate/deactivate network lines as per schedules. Conduct first- and/or second-level problem determination. Interface with users and network vendors. Follow detailed work instructions competently. Experience and Education At least two (2) years of relevant experience; an associate's degree in engineering technology is mandatory, or equivalent experience (two additional years). Experience installing and configuring network devices like firewalls, switches, routers, and devices from Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper. Support for WAN technologies such as SONET (OC3, OC48), DS3, T1, etc., is preferred. Familiarity with Taclanes/KG-175, MPLS, BGP, and VPNs is desirable. Active IAT Level II baseline certification.
